Default Fuel trims

Hello. I'm really enjoying learning the technical side of ownership of a Jaguar. I'm wanting to understand fuel trims a bit better though. At idle my car hovers around 5.6, and 6.0 LT and. 0.0, 0.0 ST. Does this sound close to normal?

I think OK as an answer might still leave the original poster with a little concern. I would call those numbers quite acceptable. Learning how to read trims is a beneficial pursuit. Understand that trims are a dynamic adjustment, driven by the upstream O2 sensor, to injector pulse rates that are plotted against a static set of preprogrammed values. Using trims to troubleshoot will save you tons of money instead of throwing parts at a problem.

Thank you so much for responding so soon. I was thinking that possibly the fuel trims being out of wack would cause a ever so slightly jerk during acceleration.

They can do that, but the posted ones look too small for that.
