Default G2 Caliper Paint

Does anyone have any close up pictures of their calipers after painting them with the G2 product? I have seen the manufacturers pictures, but would like to see some unedited photos.

I am getting ready to order the Silver from G2 to do on my STR and Joycesjag.

Any suggestions from the forum?

I used red. I used pretty much an entire kit just on mine so you may need more then 1 if you are planning on doing both of your cars. Then again mine are the Brembos so there was alot more caliper to cover.

Be careful when putting your rims back on and from then on out when taking them off. I completely didnt even think about it and dragged the rim across the top of this one which is why there is the chip in the top part. I have another kit and when they get really bad I can redo it but other then this they still look as good as they did when I first did it.

The Brembos are only half inch longer than the Jag calipers on the 06 STR

But the surface area it more to paint on the Brembos. They dont have the R plate on the front part. Plus the rears are bigger. I'm speaking more in surface area for painting more then anything.

Vance, thanks for the pictures the quality of the finished product looks really good. How many coats did you use?

I've done several sets (not the STR) with G2 - pretty good stuff. The key is the prep work. Wire brush, caliper cleaner spray, some steel wool and attention to detail go a long way.

Vance580's calipers look great in person BTW.

The G2 kits are great. There is a seller on ebay that has the caliper stickers also: graphics-to-go-nw

Thanks Chris, she gets many thumbs up... I think it is black, I don't see any metal flake in the paint.

If mine didn't come chrome I would want them that color. Very nice color choice for the rims. How much of the paint did you use of the G2 since you have the same brakes as SC you would be able to guage if he would have enough to do 2 cars with one kit better then me?

I like the color too, I have debated about painting my Zeus wheels to match the car, but I'd need to get Midnite Metallic mixed up for my air gun. Using any other shade of black I don't think would look right.

Chris V - I dunno if there is enough with the G2 for 8 full sized calipers, but the Duplicolor kits, which I have also used, seem to have enough to do that many - a few coates per caliper.

Vance, I used one complete kit doing a couple of coats. I also pulled off the R emblems (held on by two torxs screws) and painted behind them,it was easier than masking them, I had considered leaving them off but didn't like the look once finished so back on they went.

Chris...my wheels are more of a gun metal gray/black with a pearl look that don't match my original color but look great anyways. The dealer did them using the XKR black edition color code. Just a thought incase you can't get your exact match.

Thanks BlackCat - that color rocks with your car. My Rangie wheels are basically the same color, but not quite as nice as yours.

I'll keep that XKR paint in mind. I may test shoot two wheels, one like yours and one with the Midnite metallic and see which I like. In certain lights (most), my car looks black, but with any sunlight you can see the charcoal, blue, and a hint of purple.

You made the right call in keeping the R badges I think.
