ORIGINAL: 03 S Type
Im with tallblondeguy, I usually read somewhere in the high 20s. On the way home, I got 34 mpg on strictly highway. I don't quite ride like a maniac in my S Type- but I certainly don't stick to 55 mph. I'm in FL so we average 80+ on the highway.

Funny thing is, the faster Idrive (if I accelerate normally) the better my mileage seems to be. My kat hates city driving!

Tallblondeguy,
You must not have noticed I said WE average. LOL that means everyone else on the street is doing at least 80+. I rarely get on the highway and do less than 20-25+ whatever the speed limit is where I'm driving. So if you're talking Turnpike, expect to see me barreling at at least 90 mph. Gets the best gas mileage for me too. Sometimes I'll just set her at cruise around 90 or so and relax and that seems to give me the best mileage to the gallon, as long as noone gets in the way.

Haven't kept a log of city driving - but on several Interstate/Turnpike trips (Oklahoma City to Dallas and back and Oklahoma City to Chicago and back), I got 31mpg per the computer (My computation by calculator was 30mpg). This was in Spring and Fall when the a/c was not running a great deal. I swear this is the truth. I feel that was very satisfactory. I do have a 3.0L V6.
Around town, it depends on the number of stop lights, short trips, etc, so it varies greatly.

Hi,
I have a 2000 3.0 liter and get an average 25-26 mpg per tankful for combined driving. With the price of gasoline increasing I'msome effort into getting good fuel economy. This is with regular grade fuel which my car tolerates with no problem and still gets great fuel mileage. I do try to drive efficiently ( coasting up to stoplights rather than continuing to accelerate, gentle acceleration, using the computer to monitor instaneous mileage, minimizing idling, etc.) Only mods to the car are a K&N air filter and keeping tire pressure high ( 35-40 psi ). My best single tank mileage was 30+ mpg achieved with an all-freeway long trip at over 70 mph. The 3 liter is a very efficient engine if you drive it and maintain it well.
