that was probably the wisest course Mike. when buying a Jaguar its important to take your time and find the right one. you are never going to find a perfect car but once you find the right one for you i think you will be pleased with it.

since you live in the united kingdom you will likely have a lot to choose from, so it shouldn't take too long.

Good decision Mike; the last thing you want when you're getting on a bit (and I speak from that position myself) is a big load of hassle over a car -- or anything else for that matter. My brother was thinking of moving house a few years back, but for no partic. reason. He asked me what it was like as I had a little business buying and selling houses, and as soon as I pointed out it's the biggest hassle in the world, the moving idea was kicked into touch.
Main thing about buying a car -- take your time! Even if you miss the one infront of you, there'll be another. There's not exactly a shortage of secondhand cars is there? Place seems awash with them. Oh, and I can't see prices going up either, quite the opposite. There'll be the usual Easter blip though.
