Default so i get it, battery is old so it must be replaced

this logic escapes me. Battery checks out fine. An oil leak has been traced to the connector sleeve....it was small enough so i never noticed a leak on the floor. What's the hoopla over these codes. Seems to me that its like a tree branch indicating what might, or might not, be wrong. Jag service told me aforementioned codes although generic do indicate a transmission problem. Their logic is a jag code reader will tell you whether for example your left indicator is malfunctioning, as opposed to a generic reader that just says you have an indicator issue.

We've tried to help. You appear to think we don't know these cars. You clearly don't understand codes properly. I'm out of ideas how to get you to realise that.

Default Out of ideas?

From my point of view you all have told me to change the battery but the battery checks out fine.

How did you check the battery ???
Taking a reading across the terminals ?? Won't tell you if a cell or more is weak.
OR
The better way
A hygrometer to check the cells. Get the thingy at an auto parts store and read each cell.

these cars are very sensitive to variations in the battery charge and even a battery that tests okay can cause issues with the car.

a rebuilt transmission is going to cost thousands.

a battery is going to cost a couple of hundred.

you have nothing to lose by replacing the battery .

worse case is nothing changes and you have to start looking at issues with the transmission.

best case - your codes clear and your car is back to normal.

maybe you could sweet talk a garage into lending you a battery to try.
