Hi all,
I'm going to check the fluid in my transmission (ZF 6 speed) tomorrow as it been leaking a small bit of fluid sometimes.
I have been reading the very good 'how to' but still have a question-
Shall i just remove the fill up bolt and warn up to 40c and then see if any drips out and if no drips turn off engine put in half a litre and then let it cool down before running it up to 40c again?
Also where is the fill up bolt?
Before you say it, the transmissions is the same box it left the factory with and has now done 205k and i don't think its worth sending the cash (plus don't have the funds at this time) on a fluid/filter change.
Cheers Simon.

Please do a good inspection of the oil lines leading to and from the transmission and make sure they are not "sweating" trans oil. Check the sections wherenthe lines connect with each other at the black plastic support bands. You can find cracks there. I know, I'm a survivor...A lot of good info from forum members here who experienced a few things.
