getting ready to purchase my first jag!
Just wanted to say what's up. I just found a 2003 S-Type R with 38,000 miles that needs a new home and I should be picking it up next week!! I can't freaking wait!!! I went from a 2001 C5 Vette to a 4x4 v8 Jeep and now after about 4.5 years with the Jeep I'm excited to get back into something sporty
Will have pics when I get it next week!

Don't think so, at least not the C5 I had (it was an auto). It had a vararam intake, long tube headers, x-pipe, borla xr-1 exhaust, upgraded torque converter, some programmer (can't remember the name.. think it was a predator?), and a set of drag slicks so I have a little fun... it was a pretty quick car I'm looking forward to being somewhat of a "sleeper" around town!

I think it's so unfortunate that performance mods do squat to a vette, especially anything you do to the exhaust or intake. Now the torque converter and ECU upgrades are helpful, but I still think the STR will take the vette. Now the Z06 is a different story. You'll enjoy the car, especially if you remove the R badges and keep it as a real sleeper!

RE: getting ready to purchase my first jag!
I was running on average a 12.8 with the old vette... it was a lot of fun! I don't think the STR will take a C5, especially when you factor in the 800 lb weight difference, albeit it will be a close race. One of my buddies has a z06 and takes it down to a Roebling Road outside of savannah, ga... I think I might take the STR out there if I can part with a set of brakes and tires. I'd love to see how the car reacts in a track setting. About removing the badges, I'm pretty sure I'm going to do that!!! Has anyone ever done this before without screwing up the paint on the car? I've read that you can use dental floss to get the badges off, but I'm not positive. I don't want to do anything to damage the paint!!
