Going on 8 Hour (Round Trip) with Bad Coils - Is this a Bad Idea?

I'm thinking about taking my 2000 3.0 on an 8-hour (round trip) excursion this weekend. I have the classic case of bad coils, rough idle and rough accelerations from 30-60 mph.
I just don't have the time to work on the Jag for several weeks.
So is it safe to drive on a 8 hour trip in this current condition? Could the Jag break down?
I have another vehicle that runs well but it's a much worse ride (in terms of noise and comfort) then the S-type.

Id have to say its a horrible idea knowing the car, especially the most important part being the motor isnt functioning as it should. Its just asking to break somethign else. Im by no means an expert but i wouldnt want to unless it was a a dire emergency. If not I wouldnt even drive it down the street unless to take it to get serviced.

I'd say it's a horrible idea unless you really like waiting on the side of the road for AAA. It's really not a good idea to drive a car in that state. It's rough on the motor in so many ways. Plus if the coil lets go completely your done dealing.

A bad coil means you have a miss and if your motor is missing, you will be dumping unburnt fuel into your catalytic converters.. I did this once on my TT (back when it used to have cats lol [8D]) and I started a small fire inside of them and had flames shooting from my exhaust just like the fast and the furious ... It looked pretty cool, but I installed my 3" downpipe and had to remove them soon after because they were destroyed. Once you destroy the insides you will get a "catalytic converter operating below efficiency" code and it can sometimes make the car run like crap. So your answer is yes, you can take, but your most likely going to cause more damage.
