Goodbye
XJR...... Hello S-type.
We move to Australia in several months but have sold our UK property much quicker than we thought.
As a result we will be living somewhere for a few months that (i don't believe) would leave my XJR in good shape - No off road parking, not the best neighbourhood, tree lined streets (lots of sap and bird s@#t), dozens of women trying to fit their people carriers in to car parking spaces that are not big enough for them (there is a school next door) etc, etc.....
As a result i decided to advertise my Jaguar XJR and buy something that i wont be anywhere near as precious about.... A very 'pipe and slippers' Jaguar S-Type 3.0litre....
I took a final few pictures of the XJR the other evening..... Before the the buyer collected.
And here is the much duller (but i still very much like it)! S-Type.... A silver car would have been ideal, but the mileage, level of service history and condition of this car, made it very hard to ignore.

For £1350 with a years MOT, full Jag Service History, 7 months TAX and the car really is in stunning condition - I don't think i could have even considered a focus..
.... I am aware of the personal import scheme. Sadly though i wouldn't have had the XJR for 12 months before i go, and i certainly wont have had the s-type long enough.
I think i'm going to go V8 Ford Fairline when i move.
Something like this (but without the tow bar or 'blingy' wheels)....

The S-Type (without even trying) is already returning 7-10 mpg more than the XJR ever did on like-for-like journeys.

But used (and new) European cars are really expensive.
This car on E-Bay AU is very similar to mine, but as you can see its $11,000 which is £6150.00

I would consider importing/exporting an XJR (depending upon which way I'm gong) but wouldn't even consider wasting money on doing the same for an S-type. A V8 Fairlane sounds like a much more attractive/sensible option.
