Default Got a new toy...first time playing with it

Well I have been wanting one of these for a long time. I see people with them and have been seeing videos and started watching prices of them a few months ago. Well they are releasing a new version so the old version was down for one day only so I picked it up. I just got it Monday so I really havent had too much of a chance to play with it to get it set up right but here is my first crack at a video. Notice the section where there is alot of background noise this is why there is music laid over it. I still have to mess with it to get better audio. I will start trying to get more up in the coming weeks since I am enjoying the fall out here. Also what I got was a GoPro Hero HD in case anyone is curious. Let me know what you think.

Very cool! They are a lot of fun to play with. I get a lot of wind noise on mine as well, but there are a few sites that show you how to put some foam into it to help cut down the wind.

I found a cool video where the guy uses his smart phone and sync's it to the video and then mounts the phone inside the car to get the engine noise then lays the audio back into the video. There are 2 different doors for the back. I had the 100+ one on there so I'm gonna switch to the <100 one to see if the audio is better. Also since it was on the lower part of the bumper there was alot more movement since the bumper is made to give a little so I'm gonna play around with putting it in a more solid location and see if that helps the audio.

Very enjoyable Chris, particularly since I've known that area since the early 80s. I recognized the New Hill intersection on 751 when you stop-and-rolled through it. To make this really retro, replace your current music with Kraftwerk's 1974 AOR (Album Oriented Rock) hit "Autobahn" - it runs as long as your video does if not longer. I know it's long before your time, but it's still an ultra-cool cut and a great driving song....

Don't you just love autumn in our neck of the woods? This November has been particularly gorgeous. I'm spending every early weekday morning I can hiking the trails in Umstead State Park with one of our dogs. It's spectacular out there now....

Thanks Rick

I do love it around here Jon. I actually did an overnight hike in Enos River about 2 weeks ago. Very nice scenery. I actually have every Kraftwerk CD. Really like that group. Robots and Tour de France are some of my favs. I'll keep Autobahn in mind for the next one. I'm doing a bike ride Sat to Raven Rock and then doing the 2 mile hike there. Hopefully the weather is as nice as they say it will be cause I may have the GoPro with me and try to get some good shots for a bike video.

My hiking buddy Rod (he lives in Apex) is leading a group hike at Raven Rock on Saturday. His group will hike about 14 miles of trails there. I think they are scheduled to step off shortly after 8:00 am. If you run into him and his group (probably about 20 to 25 hikers) on the trails, tell him that Big Jon says hey. It will blow his mind trying to figure out how he knows you, and how you know me. I love to mess with his head like that....

haha, great idea!!

I'm a bit surprised at how many like (or even know of) Kraftwerk

I never could properly agree that that track sounds like Beach Boys Barbara Ann, but hey

They did have a good 15 minutes of fame, they were never my cup of tea though.

I'm from Detroit which has a huge electronic music following. So in order to like electronic music you have to appreciate Kraftwerk as they were one of the pioneers of it. This is me and a friend back home's favorite picture. It is in front of the State Theatre in downtown Detroit. Wish I could of been able to go to that show.

Nice vid. I'm getting a 01 s-type 4.0 tomorrow so I'm devouring all things Jag at this point.
