Default Got rust? Use spray paint!

I don't think I even had the car for a year when the trim around the windshield started to rust and the paint flake off. Finally decided to do something about it. Picture shows what it looked like before, then after I took some 150grit sandpaper to it to finish removing the paint and used a fine metal finishing pad and washed it with just plain water. Taped off the rubber and sprayed a little rustoleum glossy black lacquer and voilą! I think it came out pretty well.

Glad it worked for you. Keep us posted on how it holds up to your Midwest winters. If you drive frequently on salted roads, that rust may return rather quickly....

Mine did the same thing. Not sure why Jag used such poor paint there, when the rest of the car is painted great

I did the same thing but used satin black to blend in better. That was about 5 years ago and I see I need to do it again.

Small detail item but I think it makes the car look more finished.

Poor primer. Same thing happens to the XK8/XKRs...

Best wishes, Colin
