Got an S-Type R
Hi guys,
I am now a new owner of an 05 ebony STR. I should pick the car up tomorrow as the dealer is putting some new Continentals on it. It isn't perfect, but it is in really good shape considering its age and the fact that it has 75k on the clock.
Anyway, my car does have a flaw. It is missing a washer jet on one of the windshield wipers and I was wondering how I can get a hold of one. If anyone can point me in the right direction I would appreciate it.
Matt

recmerc04 - Nice purchase, you wont be sorry! Now get busy and start the upgrade garage! If you want some really good deals on some aftermarket mods, give Chris over at Mina Gallery minagallery.com a call. They have a special on lowering springs right now that is unbelieveable!!
Welcome to the STR club! ;-)
Merry Christmas!

Don't worry, the modding bug will hit me in due course. I just came out of a Mercury Marauder that I had modded tastefully.
It seems as if the car already has an aftermarket exhaust system on it. The tips have "Romulus" embossed in them. To be honest, it was pretty quiet when I drove it but I am coming out of a car that had a Magnaflow X pipe, Flowmaster 40's and no resonators. The exhaust was audible like that of a stock Mustang; noticable on acceleration, no drone. I have never heard of this system, what is it? It seems like an axle back kind of deal.
Once I get the car in my hands, I will look into changing the supercharger's oil along with changing the belts, hoses and subsequently performing a coolant flush. I plan to do everything on my own except for the larger jobs that I have read about like the tranny flush.

Had mine for nearly five and a half years now. It has been a great car. These machines are so underated for the power and the price.
If you are patient and join this forum for all the advice you need this car should not cost you any more to run than any other modern car.
There were probably only about 70 or so that officially reached the shores here in Australia.
Occassionally one comes up for sale and they are still pulling in about USD $40,000-45,000 here.
The next item I am looking at doing is a tranny flush. ZF Australia have monopoly on the fluid here and want about $50 per litre. I have struggled to find a US dealer to ship to Australia so I have to go to the UK where it is more expensive.
Our locally made Ford big sedan here does now run the same tranny but still the dealers want an arm and a leg. The cheapest I could find is from 'British Part UK', they have a Transmission service kit with 7 litres that is reasonable in price.
I am not sure however if I can ship this kit legally.
Great to see many more keen STR buyers.
Enjoy.

Congrat's Red! I have had my 03 STR for about a month now. Love it. Just started snowing here (Central New York) and the comments are right...it really isn't very good in the snow at all. Snow tires a must. It's my first jag and I sense it's yours too. Parhaps we'll learn the Jag vibe together. So you must have picked her up already...pics?
