Hard start P0442 P0455 P0328
#22
Wanted to update.. been really busy and haven't driven the car much. Clubairth1 I hadn't tried the starter fluid yet, but definitely will go buy some and I think it'll confirm my theory of the issue. So I did what I hate doing, but purchased a gas cap to see if it fixed it, it did not. The p0455 code has not come back and I truly think the p0328 isn't the main cause, but a contributor. I'm taking the car to my friends shop this week to hopefully resolve the evap leak. My hunch is it's near the canister under the fuel tank. A couple months back we replaced the electronic parking brake and it's a really tight spot above the differential. Probably pushed up against a hose or maybe loosened an oring. If I'm right fixing this leak will fix the starting issue. After reading up about evap systems I realized the engine uses vapor at ignition to start the car from the charcoal canister. If you look in the jag repair pdf it states starting issues can be related to evap issues. Makes sense in theory, but we'll see!
And the reason why I think the starter fluid will definitely work is the car is lean when cranking cold due to no vapor. Whether that be a leak or one of the valves closed. Adding starter fluid will create a richer intake and should even the field.

Never heard of that but the car does NOT start on vapor! So post back if that's the problem as I have never heard of it before?
If your not getting liquid fuel from the injectors the car won't start. The evaporative emissions stuff will not keep the car from starting either.
I think I would get the car started first before trying to repair those other codes.
