Has anyone fixed the HID aiming problem?
I have an S-Type with factory HIDs and I remember a while back a discussion about the aiming problems with the HIDs.. mine point straight down at the ground and illuminate the road about 9 feet in front of my car and thats about it.. The adjustment screws on the top of the lights are in their uppermost position.. Will the dealer be able to re aim them with a computer or should I look for replacements?

RE: Has anyone fixed the HID aiming problem?
no the problem is the mounts that hold the whole assembly inside are broken(plastic studs) and I have never seen anything to repair any headlights. This is the #1 way I get HID projector assemblies as you have to replace the healight assembly, and I then take them apart to salvage the projectors and ballasts. To verify remove the raditor core support cover and grab the electrical connector for the hi beadlight and wiggle, if broken the inner assembly flops around, if not itll be firm. A cheapo way I have fixed for people is to silicone a small piece of rubber hose between the hibeam connector you just wiggled and the back of the headlight. othe wise the list price is approx $900each and you have to remove the bumper cover to install

I will give you a ray of hope, if when you ck theyre are NOT broken inside but point down, then the headlight module needs to be programmed at the dealer with ids/wds. Occasionally when we replace a HID assembly for being broken they wont self level and we have to calibrate/program the headlight module.....so cross your fingers, if its broken and you dont understand the repair I referred to let me know and Ill shoot a few pics and post em
