Default Headlights & CD Changer

I bought my 2003 S-Type V8 in 2005. So far I've had no trouble with it. Recently the headlights stopped auto-leveling at the right spot. They point way to low. Then the CD changer stopped working. I press the CDC button and I get "CDC Error". I finally took it to the dealer and left it with them to look at it. They said they would take my Easy Care Warranty.

I think I read on this forum that somoe folks had a similar problem with their headlights and it was fixed by resetting the computer code. Well, the dealer tells me the headlights have to be replaced as does the entire CD changer. They are waiting on an adjuster from Easy Care to come take a look.

I hope I don't get ripped off.

Well, if you have the warranty, you shouldn't get ripped off right? I know that some of the X-type guys were talking about tabs inside of the headlights breaking off, but I don't know about them stopping self-adjusting. As for the Cd changer, those are quite fragile and break easily so I wouldn't be too concerned about that.

Update!

I sure am glad I bought the extended warranty! I just got my money's worth. It took a few days to get everything done but that's okay as I have a Nissan Pickup as a 3rd vehical. The Warranty company sent out someone to talk to the dealer and examine the problems on the car. They approved the work so tomorrow my car should ready. The dealer is replacing the auto-levelng headlights and the CD changer. It will cost me a tad over $200, while the warranty is picking up $2,800. Awesome!

Congrats! I'm glad to see that Jaguar dealerships are working to help out somewhere. I've been calling the dealership here in VA Beach and they've been a little uncooperative. =/

Hey Reddrawf did you get my PM? I PM'ed, but for some reason I don't think that you got it. Please, tell who ever replaces your headlight that you would like to keep them. I realize that they don't function properly. I would still like to buy them form you. Also, I have the same problem with my cd changer, I was hoping that you could pass along a parts number. Let me know thanks.

Momo, I did indeed receive your email and I responded. I guess you did not get my response. Unfortunetly, I didn't get your email until after I had picked up the car. Sorry about that! I would have gladly sent you the parts.

Another Update.

A couple of days after I picked up the car from the dealer I was walking to my car in the parking lot from the back of the car. What do I spy? The dealer removed my license plate and put it back on with a license plate frame advertising their dealership! ARRGH! As soon as it warms up enough to wash my car I'll remove it and be sure to tell them next time to not do that again.

No Red I never received anything from you. Any chance you could give them a call and tell them that you want them back? Like I said I will buy them from you. I think I can fix them and pass them along to anyone that would liketo buy them, at a fair price of course. I not looking to rape anyone here just help the community out. Look at this thread and you will see what I can do withOEM headlights.I think that this communitywould greatly appreciate. Thanks https://www.jaguarforums.com/m_31735/mpage_2/tm.htm

Also did you by chance get a part number for the cd changer? Thankyou for your time.

hey momo and everyone else, my headlamps are indeed getting replaced right now and so are the sensors for leveling. Jaguar extended warranty is paying for new headlight assemblys but they want me to pay for the sensors...WTF! my dealer is great and its obviously not their fault bc they have to have it all approved from Jaguar and it took them over a week to get back to my dealer so I called them today and prayerfully Jaguar will take care of that too!
