If you rebuild the heads, it might then should up a weakness in the bottom end ( piston rings )
By rebuilding i mean lapping the valves in. You increase the sealing efficiency of the valves which could put more strain on the bottom end, which could in turn increase oil consumption.

Of course, I realize that no matter if the top or bottom of the engine is a problem, it's best to do everything anyway, because the apparent saving at the beginning may result in double expenses in the near future. This is not a new car and the engine is not a wheel that can be removed in minutes. I have already put so much money and work into this car that it is simply not profitable for me not to make this engine.
