Heat for passenger side "zone" won't turn off
Driving to work this morning in my S-Type 2005 V8, I noticed that I was getting very warm. The climate was set to "Auto", so this was strange. I touched each vent, and realized that the passenger side vents, and the vents for the back seats, were generating a lot of heat. The driver-side vents were acting normally. Engine temperature was normal.
No matter what manual setting, full heat came out of these vents. The only solution was to turn the fan off.
Has anyone experienced this issue and/or can suggest a possible cause?
Thank you!

Not the problem
My mechanic is convinced this the problem is caused by the Heating Control Valve for the passenger zone. He says it's stuck open.
Sadly this is a $400 part and requires quite a bit of labor to replace, and a coolant flush.
I think this is the first time I've confronted the high price of maintaining the Jaguar. All my other repairs have been reasonable in regards to parts and time.

You might (probably) have a fried CCM (climate control modual)
One usually takes out the other unless caught early.
Good luck, both can be expensive, CCM can be repaired.

Not out of the woods
You are correct, the part fits just right.
The new Heater Control Valve worked for a little while, and now the heat is stuck "on" in both zones.
My mechanic doesn't have the latest software to troubleshoot the problem, so I'm switching shops to finish the job.
Oh well.
