Heated front seats
I own a MY 2003 S-Type 3.0 executive. The car has as optional the Driver Seat: 16-Way Movement with Memory, but without the heating.
Now my question, does anybody know if the seats are prepared and that only the replacement of the center switch unit is enough to have the heating working.
I understand from earlier models XJ40 and X300 that heating is inside the seats but not connect, and only missing heater switch.
Thanks in advance for the replays

If the old XJ's were actually built that way, that would be the first car I've ever heard of that has the heating elements pre-installed. The biggest $$ is in the special heating elements not the switch..So, it would make no sense for a manufacturer to just "put them in" without just making heated seats standard..

Yes it makes no sense if they have all ingredients inside the seats for the heating.
But they have to put something on the option list.
And after all for production reasons I can imagine that it is cheaper to have a complete seat installed and only adapt an switch if someone is ordering the heated seats.
But this is wishful thinking, I guess.
