Heated seat problem
Hi all,
My drivers side heated seat has suddenly stopped working, the button on the centre console illuminates and the passenger side still works, i checked the fuse which is also fine, i took the seat out to look for a break in a wire and saw nothing, however not sure what i am looking at as there are so many wires underneath, i changed the heated seat module under the seat and it still doesn't work, i am running out of ideas? have i missed anything?

Luckily for you, you've got a (insert name of ethnic group) blueprint right next to the inoperative seat. Wiring diagram here, same as posted in the previous replay. Scroll down to fig 11.6:

Note how the two seats appear to be wired identically. Each seat has two heater elements and a temperature sensor. You could take resistance readings of one side and compare it to the other. Perhaps there is some safety logic in the module that shuts off the output if the temperature sensor is out of range. Or maybe the same happens if a heating element is sensed to be open.
I don't think you've got a power problem. Each control module has two power inputs. One at each module looks to be battery power (Squares 42 and 43) that actually runs the heaters. These two inputs come from the same fuse, so if one seat works, the other should be good unless you've got a broken wire. The other inputs (Circles 21 and 22) are switched ignition power that probably just controls the modules. Likewise, these also come from a single fuse. Check the respective plugs for power at these two pins to be sure.

I would guess that this is a broken wire.Check very carfully where the wires flex as the seat moves back and forward.
However one of the two heating elements could be faulty. There is one in the base and another in the back of the seat, they are wired in series so if one fails they both stop working.
