Hello. Gearbox fault - please help
Hi
just joined the forum - looks great and i look forward to reading posts
I do hope someone can help me - I have a 2004 s type diesel and the gearbox fault light has come on.
When this happens the car sticks in 1 gear - a low one - and then usually clears when ignition is turned off and back on again.
Jaguar say that " Theres nothing they can find wrong" and so i am a bit stuck - i need the car foer hols next week so any helpful advice would be appreciated
PS
The battery light comes on as well, constantly, when driving and jaguar dont know whay thats happening either as the battery is charging nicely!

Welcome to the forum Diesel,
(moved from Regional section to S-Type section)
You can do without either of those faults to go on holiday. The guys here in the S-Type section should be able to help.

Welcome Diesel. Did U recently motor through heavy rain? Jags have moisture sensitive electrical connectors. The same issue happened to me and clears when stopped and restarted. The torque converter on these cars are known to fail. When cold, does the tach rise and fall by 200+- RPM?, then smooth when fully warmed up?
