Hi all

I have a 2006 S Type and was told the compressor needs replacing

Went to locals and was quoted...GULP...$458 for labour but $2,399 for the compressor, desiccant bag, filter and o-ring required.

I was wondering if anyone has a US or UK sorce for these parts as they seem to be off the planet!

The part #'s are:
Compressor XR8 58532
Dessicant Bag XR8 28836
Filter XR8 28840
O-Ring XR8 3790

First have a look at the threads about swapping a spring around in case that would be enough.

I don't know who ships to Oz but google shows a lot of places selling jaguar parts!
ebay has them, too.
There are other members from down under who may say where they get their parts...

Shipping will probably be £58 according to thier site. You might have to send your old compressor back, but they have other options to buy.

 

My suggestion from usage.

Try Cooldrive in Garbutt Townsville.

I cannot get full access to their website coz I am not at work.

They will be able to cross reference the compressor number for you.

 

I hear your problem Yak. Australia prices for jag parts are a joke.British Parts are a good place to ask for a quote then Jagbits. I use a virtual mailbox for US purchases as UPS can throw up ridiculous prices for freight.
I couldn't maintain my car on local prices and buying on the Net makes it cheaper to own than a Ford Falcon!
