Default Help diagnosing engine noise!

Hey all,
Long story short, I had a used motor put into my 2000 Jaguar S-Type 4.0 because the original one blew a head gasket at about 134k miles. This one has around 60k on it and after the (jo-shmo) mechanic put it in .. it really has never been the same. YES he gave me my money back and NO I have not driven this thing a ton since because of this noise. If anyone can help give me an idea of what this noise could be I'd greatly appreciate it.

HERE IS THE LINK TO A QUICK VIDEO I SHOT OF IT.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JwoJ_A4Awh0&feature=youtu.be

It doesn't really happen, or at least become apparent until the car is warm and idling.
The engine feels smooth under accelerations and even at idle it is just noisy.
I've checked the upper timing chain on the drivers side which is more where the noise is coming from.
It does go with the RPMs as you can hear in the video but does not seem to be associated with the primary parts of the engine (i.e rods pistons or crankshaft).
The car does leak oil but it seems to be more or less flinging it around when it is on not when its parked.
Is it possible its an oil pump or water pump? Or perhaps its valve noise?
Any insight is greatly appreciated.

That sounds very similar to when the water pump failed on my ‘02 V6. The shaft bearing failed.

If it is not the water pump, it may be one of the other belt-driven accessories. Use a long 3/8” breaker bar to loosen the belt tensioner. Wiggle each pulley to see if any are loose. When my water pump failed, it looked fine while running, as the belt tension kept it from wobbling, but it still was noisy.

yeah that does sound more like an external noise than internal....especially when you rev it up...Karl's suggestion is the quickest and easiest...if you can, remove the expansion tank and that will make it a lot easier to access the tensioner and see and wiggle the pulleys and idlers...check the supercharger snout bearings also, and even spin it by hand to give it a listen...has the oil been changed on this new motor and if so did you see any metal on the drain plug...if it has not been changed you might want to do it ....drain the oil into a real clean container...let it sit for a while, then slowly drain off the oil and see if any metal stays behind at the bottom....I would also make sure the supercharger is full of oil but that is a whole other thread..if you are near an autozone, they sell a sweet belt tensioner tool that works great on these cars....it is plenty long and can be set to different angles and fits both the main belt and the supercharger belt...saved me a lot of skin....best 30 dollar tool i ever bought......good luck
