Help? Disconnected Battery, now a beep?

Last night I disconnected the battery on my 2007 S-Type. When reconnecting the battery cable the car started (has remote start). Hmmm? Just shared that because I thought it was strange.
Anyway, my problem is - shortly after I started the car this morning - a beep-beep-beep noise started, coming from the dash somewhere. ANY idea what happened, as all I did was "disconnect & connect" the battery ground strap. That was to try and get the CAN'T APPLY PARKBRAKE light on the dash to go away. Right now I want to find out how to stop this beeping. Help?

I do not think the dash saying CAN'T APPLY PARKBRAKE has anything to do with it (the beeping?) NOTE?UPDATE: Now I think the beeping IS related to the dash reading. But that first came on about 30 days ago when it was a -35 windchill outside (car sat out 9 hours) and after starting and trying to back up, it didn't want to back up. Like everything was frozen. I put it back in Park, then in Reverse again, and gave it gas until it did back up. Like I say, it was COLD out. Car seems fine, but light still on, and now after the battery disconnect & reconnect the dash is beeping.
I'm just trying to supply as much information as I can. TIA

This kind of sounds familiar:

Turned out my 5 year old (OEM) battery was dying.
The beeping that you hear is the EPB needs to be reset.

I understood that the warning had been on for some time, I also understood that you said the car didn't want to move, made me think that maybe the brake was on and causing the beep. seems I was foolish.
Anyway.........
Electronic Park Brake (EPB) –
Re-Calibration Procedure
2003 MY-ON
S-TYPE
M44998-ON
Issue:
On some 2003 MY-on S-TYPE vehicles, a customer may report a concern of premature
parking brake pad wear or the brakes binding. This condition can result if the electronic
park brake (EPB) system is not re-calibrated after the removal of the rear brake calipers
to replace the brake pads.
Action:
Should a customer express concern regarding the above, refer to the calibration
procedure detailed in this bulletin.
1. Reset the EPB module:
a. Switch off the ignition.
b. Disconnect the battery for 30 seconds. For additional information, refer to STYPE
Workshop Manual Section 414-01.
c. Reconnect the battery.
2. Start the engine.
3. Firmly apply and release the footbrake five times.
4. Confirm that the message ‘NOT CALIBRATED’ or ‘APPLY FOOT AND PARK
BRAKE’ is displayed on the instrument cluster message center. This indicates that
the parking brake is in calibration mode.
5. Lightly press the footbrake pedal.
6. Apply the parking brake by using the EPB switch.
7. Release the parking brake.
8. Release the footbrake.
9. Confirm that the brake warning lamp is no longer illuminated on the instrument
pack and that the ‘NOT CALIBRATED’ message is no longer displayed in the
message center.
10. Apply and release the EPB five times to ensure no error is present.

I do thank all that posted help/suggestions. I realized I still had some extended warranty on the car, so brought it to the local Jaguar/Land Rover dealership on Friday after work. Wife came with, and wanted to look at SUV's. We no longer have a problem with the S-Type, as Friday evening we drove home in a Red Metallic '11 Land Rover LR2 with 4,411 miles on it (their ex service loaner). All are now happy, especially the wife.
Oh ya, they did say the battery was very low, so had to charge it before running some tests. So it pretty much had to be the battery...

😱 Except the Jag! The poor thing thought it had found a loving home until you orphaned it because it needed some simple maintenance😢. Shame on you🤨. When will people learn, ‘a Jag is for life, not just for Christmas’?🙄
