Shoot ztecstr, I haven't a clue as to size. R U sure you were able to squarely place the socket on the bolts? Someone should be here soon with info. good luck.

Perform a search on the forum - there is a forum member that tackled this project and included pics - I remember the OP mentioning something about accessing the side bolts on the EGR and not the ones you think.

I would say search "supercharger hose"...

Ditto to the air box, and they are 8mm if I remember correctly. I did this job a few months ago and for the life of me couldn't get those bolts off either. They were just old and kind of rusted so they just rounded off. Ended up having to get an extractor to remove them. After that, they came of with ease! I did have to get new bolts though, but if they are giving you trouble, just get an extractor and replace them with new bolts!

Ditto to winterjag and/or: For an entire day my mechanic sprayed the EGR bolts with loosening lubricant. Use new bolts.

Looks like your best bet is to extract them and replace new... these bolts are a bear to remove...

Well, with the extractor socket and a bunch of extenders for my air rachet they came off in about 30 seconds! With the air box removed and the three climate control hoses disconnected at the firewall, you can just get access to them. Now, when I put the new ones in, I used my fingers and a small rachet by hand. I didn't want to risk damaging the new ones with air tools.

Just a thought... maybe coat the threads with anti seize lubricant.

In stickies and Search also finds it.

Is hose not shown elsewhere in JTIS?
