help with front lower bushes
hi all...
I've got a 2000 plate, v8 s type and need new front lower shock absorber bushes. Can get the rears, but jag will only sell the front as part of the whole shocker. Mechanic has had a look and agrees that the front bushes look just like the rear ones and he sees no reason why they wouldn't push out, etc.
What other peoples experience with this? do the rear ones fit the front?
Has anyone fitted a front shocker bush on a 2000 plate before?
just don't want to have to shell out £200+ to swap out the front shockers, just because the lower bush has gone - talk about a crazy waste of time and money. Such a simple job is turned into something more major for no good reason, only than jaguar like being awkward!..grrrrr
many thanks in advance

I don't know where you are at but it looks like the UK.
The UK Jaguar forum has a massive thread on bushes and really has everything pulled together.
Have you read the entire thing? You should because it seems we are slowly getting all the individual bushes but not always from Jaguar!
Take a look:
The definitive wishbone bush thread
Be sure and read the discussion as a LOT of details are in there too. It's 7 pages right now!

thanks for the info.... i looked over the following > JagRepair.com - Jaguar Repair Information Resource
great site and great tutorials...
looks like the rears will fit the front, so I've taken the plunge and ordered a set, will keep you posted on the outcome...
the list of things getting fixed next week is growing:
both front lower shocker bushes
front anti roll bar bushes and drop links
cam cover seals
spark plugs
fuel filter
then all should be well for a while, until i can get round to sorting the rear drop links and bars, which are fine at the mo, but definitely getting close to needing to be swapped out now....
just glad for the internet and being able to source cheaper parts as jaguar really know how to screw you on parts (just like all main dealers). Never really understood why, just sell them cheaper and everybody will buy from the main dealer...!
