Unhappy Help I have a running fault

hi all i could do with some of your great advice....... i had running fault with my s-type 3.0 v6.......all coils and sparks have been renewed and manifold gaskets and engine has been flushed twice. she wouldnt run on all 6 for toffee so we had her put on comp- was saying left bank cam shaft sensor so it was replaced-it was still running badly so back to the computer-saying left bank cam shaft sensor again so it was replaced (in case the other was faulty by chance) but she still wont run on all 6. we have been told it is a timing fault so the belt needs checking but as far as i am aware its on a chain? can anyone shed some light on this please
thanksx

Sounds like a garage that swaps parts instead of doing proper diagnosis - very expensive

I'd go elsewhere.

What actual (OBD) code number(s) do you have?

Buy yourself a cheapo OBD code reader so you can post the codes here as JagV8 says.

Search for the problem on this forum. It has been discussed and Brutal has posted some things to try. Seems like some cleaner in the oil helps and changing what weight oil you use might help too.

My 2001 3.0 wouldn't run right, ate some coils, and kept telling me cam sensor. Turned out to be chaffed wires by the fuel connection (top rear of the engine). The short to ground must have been confusing the computer.

Good point! You're not the only one - I've seen a few. Well worth checking.
