Help a Jag Lover out
I have a 2002 S-Type and though i purchased her brand new she is finally starting to show her age. She is paid off so rather than trade her in I want to put a little money into it. B4 I dump money into after market wheels and tires and this and that I want to make sure she is running sound and fix some of the little problems she is having. I am pretty mechanically inclined but have had no luck finding a Haynes or Chiltons manual for her. I also have had no luck finding a place online that sells parts and accessories for it. I need a new rear view mirror. Got really hot here and it melted. Little things like that I want to fix b4 I make her even better. If you have any idea or have used some sites or know where I can find some DIY manuals please let me know. Thanks again. My email is JAZZY4409@gmail.com. Any help would be put to good use. Thanks

jazzy, there are no chiltons or haynes manuals for our vehicles. There are 2 basic ways of going here without spending a fortune. There is a link for christos JTIS manual here at jaguarforums.com (this from what I understand gets to be very technical) I have a subscription to www.alldatadiy.com $25.00 (US) a year. I find alldata more for the shadetree DIYer, although some (not many) of the diagrams are hard to interpert it gives you alot of pertinent information. If you think you will hold onto your baby for 5 years the subscription price is $45.00

Jazzy, go into the X-Type forum and there is a link there to the JTIS CD. You download the file and install it, then you will have tons of information on how to work on your car. Some of the stuff isn't quite out in the open for you to find it. So, a little bit of searching may be required. But, it is in there. I don't find the user interface too backyard mechanic friendly. But, that is about the best that you are going to get without spending lots and lots of money on a paper book.
If you need any help, just hollar. There are people around here that are always willing to help give advice and may even offer a wrench or two.

All good advice.... but also read lots of the old messages. Time well spent! And have a play with the search feature. Also, there is at similarly-named UK forum with more threads to read (eek) but again time well spent. But don't ask the same question on both forums unless you get few or no replies first time round cos it's a waste lol. Oh - and read the stickies (top of forum) first.
