Question Help Me! - Coolant leak

Ok, so I own a 2005 Jaguar S-Type 3.0 V6, I noticed I have a pretty bad coolant leak, as I disconnected to coolant reservoir, the metal clip the holds the lower hose in place fell somewhere and I cannot find it. What is this metal clip called? Can anybody tell me where to get this metal clip so I can get back on the road?

Hmmmm....not shown on JEPC....probably shouldn't have lost that one! Neither could I find it on Jagbits or Rock Auto. Most likely called a "retainer clip" or some such. Welcome to the forum, and hopefully someone will happen along with the answer...but I've crapped out!

Best bet to find one might be to raid your nearest junkyard for 03 and subsequent S-types, not certain but I believe the same clip is used on the V-8's as well.

If you were disconnecting from above, and didn't pull the undertray, it should be down there somewhere. Try a small shop magnet and trace over all the likely nooks and crannies?

Wouldn't this just be a jubilee clip? The original pipe clips are usually the crimped on ones, so best to replce them with jubilee clips as a matter of course.

Here are pictures of the hose which attaches to the "coolant reservoir"(expansion tank) and the locking spring clip which is part of it

You probably lost the spring clip. The first 2 pics show the clip postion for removing the hose and in positon to lock the hose.

You would have botch the assembly to use a jubilee clip!Just find a new hose somewhere.

Many BMWs use the same type of clip, and I believe you can get them separately without the hoses from BMW. If they are the same size you might be in luck.

I found the hose whilst looking (unsuccessfully) for the clip. It hadn't occurred to me that a new hose would likely needs include the clip! I believe they are on Jagbits.com. Wherever it was, it was "picture not available" and there was no mention of the clip.

Keep looking for the clip. It will be tough to find it on it's own. Be sure and check the fan shroud as it might be trapped in there.

Do you have all the under body pans off? I would also remove the one attached to the front bumper. That clip is in there some where!
