Default Help me select new wheels for my car (I found affordable ones!!!!!!!!)

My BMW friend told me about Forgestar - they are rotary forged (whatever that means) and are 15% lighter than cast but cost as much as most cast wheels (~$350/wheel)!!!! FInally!!!!! And I confirmed that they will make them in any spec, including the STR!!!!!

As you all know, I have been trying to find an alternative to $$$$$ forged aluminum wheels forever, and actually gave up til my BMW friend from gym told me about Forgestar.

If any of you want a set, contact Jurrian at modbargains.com his email is Jurrian@ModBargains.com

Anyway, here are the three he said they will be able to make for the STR in right now (some of the other models they make are nearly discountinued and are being weaned out). Please help me select which model you think would look good on an STR...

The first is my favorite, sorta kinda reminds me of Zeus wheels in a distant way....

CF5

The second is my second favorite, but every BMW has similar wheels I dont know...

F14

The third look like Prodrive wheels made by OZ Racing I used to have many, many years ago on my WRX. I like them, but they are my third favorite out of all of these...

CF10

Gentlemen, cast your votes! I am going to be ordering this week!

1, 2, 3 in that order...BTW, are they offering them in staggered widths? Also diameter, just 18? Or maybe 18-20s?

Staggered and 18-20. They run many sizes, they are built to order just like HRE, IForged, etc. You can tell them the specs you want or "leave it to the expert"

$1,399.00 for a set of four!!!! Thats $350/wheel thats what most cast wheels are!!!!

I decided to go with 19x8.5 & 19x10 in the CF5 model in "textured gunmetal" (as pictured. Good thing too because this is the email I received:

"As for the wheels, excellent choice, I really do think that the CF5's would be the best fit for your vehicle, giving your Jag the best look possible. More importantly, I talked to Forgestar, and it looks like your car runs very high offsets, which means the only wheel that is actually applicable would be the CF5. The other F14 wheels or CF10s actually don't come in as high of an offset which would make it 100% applicable for the car - essentially meaning the wheels would be a very aggressive fit on the car. As for the sizes, you're in luck, that fitment for materials is indeed in stock so that we can physically make your wheels. Now one thing to mention that I've touched on before, they work just like fully custom forged aluminum wheels in the sense that everything is made per your order, so it does take about 4-6 weeks to produce the wheels from everything to the milling of the offset, getting the bolt pattern drilled, getting the wheel formed itself of course, and then the powdercoat"

For anyone wanting to buy my structurally perfect Zeus wheels with Michelin Pilot Sports with lots of tread left, they will be for sale once my Forgestars arrive in 4-6 weeks.

More info on Forgestar wheels (per my email discussion with ModBargains):

As for 19"s, if someone wants Forgestars made, that person will need to go with CF5's, there really isn't any other option other than that as everything else would be too aggressive, because they don't make high enough offsets on those wheels.
Of course 20" wheels, this is a whole different story. CF5's, F14's and CF10s which are the big three they make, will all be applicable to be made for a Jaguar S-Type R. With that said, as I mentioned, the rear offset (since the rear wheel here is the biggest issue for fitment), will be higher than most factory cars, which is around a 55 (depending on the width of course). Here are the offsets that are applicable depending on how wide you would like a wheel for all three wheels I suggest:
CF5 20"
20×8.5 offsets from +10 to +50
20×9.0 offsets from +16 to +56
20×10 offsets from +29 to +69
20×11 offsets from +42 to +82
20" DEEP CONCAVE:
20×9.5 offsets from +2 to +42
20×10.5 offsets from +15 to +55
20×12 offsets from +34 to +74

F14 20"
20×8.5 offsets from +26 to +50
20×9.0 offsets from +18 to +56
20×10 offsets from +31 to +69
20×11 offsets from +48 to +81
20" DEEP CONCAVE:
20×9.5 offsets from +7 to +43
20×10.5 offsets from +20 to +55
20×12 offsets from +39 to +75

CF10 20"
20×8.5 offsets from +10 to +50
20×9.0 offsets from +16 to +56
20" DEEP CONCAVE:
20×10 offsets from +15 to +55
20×11 offsets from +27 to +67
20×12 offsets from +40 to +80

With that said, of course your best choice for going with a 20" wheel would be the CF10's for the offset and size, since the 10.5 on the other models, such as the F14 and the CF5 only go up to a 55 offset which might be pushing it, so I would suggest going with a tire that has a 'rolled' sidewall. Of course I can go more into detail if that question pops up.
For the 19"s on F14's the highest offset Forgestar makes on those would be a ET44, and for the CF10 the highest they make is a ET48 on the same width wheel. That's the main reason why I suggest the CF5's in 19"S because we have more room to work with it!

Good choice Amigo to go with the 19" CF5's. I like it, and definitely the gunmetal choice was excellent, can't wait to see it

The best choice of rolled over side walls for tires would be imo are the pirellis Pzero which I'm running in the rear 275/35/20 & front 275/30/20; wheels are powder coated to same color as my body paint "Platinum Metallic". **Be advised my STR is lowered with the "Arden Springs" with the 20's on. Have a look for anyone whose curious.

I like the CF5's - #1. Easier to clean too.

Hmm....I might have to jump in myself. Thanks for the info!
