Thanks, John. I do not believe the XK8 can do the periodic Raleigh-to-Tampa and back trip anywhere near as comfortably as the S-Type can. Plus, the XK8 does not have enough room to haul her suitcases/makeup/shopping bags/Florida produce/kitchen sink and whatever else she decides to pick up along the way. We'll see. I'm sure she's planning to try it....

Thanks, Mountaincat. The Blue Ridge Parkway will be a definite destination for our XK8....

Thanks, Rick. I know you were pulling for her. Can't blame you for that. Gotta keep the home fires burning, you know....

Nope. That iPad 2 stays glued to her hands. She even uses the damn thing soaking in her Jacuzzi. Insanity at it's finest....

My best guess is that it would have been in your driveway 2-3 weeks prior to her next trip to Florida. OR ELSE....
Do NOT underestimate the power of a woman. Course, we all knew that.

Congrats Jon (I think) Does the car have the ACM? She may want to try to hook up the iPad. Regarding the S-Type, how about putting in doggie covers in the back seat and selling the Lexus? I agree with you that given the situation the S-Type will be the one most likely sold.

You may have to get a trailer hitch and a small trailer for the XK8 for the wife though.

John,

No, there is no remaining Jaguar warranty. Select Edition on this car expired in mid-2011. Unfortunately, I'm on my own for this one. I'll set aside $5,000 as an XK8 maintenance fund. Or rob from my mostly-unused S-Type maintenance fund. This is my biggest worry, although my research showed that this XK8 has been properly serviced by Jaguar and other than routine scheduled maintenance, not much out of the ordinary has been required. It did have both front shocks replaced in January 2007 and headlight assembly replacement in September 2008, however....

Thanks, Mike. I don't know what ACM is. And our huge male Greyhound is far too big to climb in and out of the back seat of the S-Type, with or without doggie covers. He barely fits in the cargo area of the Lexus SUV....

ACM is the audio connectivity module, gives you an aux input, ipod control, and the ability to play mp3's off of a usb stick. I can get you one at wholesale as well if you are really interested .

Check your email Jon.

Take care,

George
