HID turns on and off...
Hello all, new member here. My brother just got an 03 Stype R, and his drivers side low beam light will turn on sometimes, then other times it will go out. I've never worked with HID's before, but it is acting like a loose wire. I've read about swapping the bulbs to see if it is the ballast, and saves to how to to remove bumper...
My question is.....if an HID bulb is bad, will it turn off/on like this? I assume it wouldn't lite at all if the bulb were bad, but not sure if this is true. I hate to have him spend money on bulb If it's not bad....
Its currently snowing, and would prefer not to have to remove bumper just to swap bulbs, so any suggestions are welcome.

I have never used HIDs so have no first hand knowledge. However, after checking the manual. It states:
"High Intensity Discharge (HID) Xenon light units, type D2S 35W, are not renewable, contact your Jaguar Dealer if the headlight fails to operate." P175.
Hopefully someone with experience with these globes will post with better news as contacting a Jaguar dealer usually means a much lighter wallet at the end of the day. Perhaps you could use halogen globes.
Here is a link to the manual where I found the information.

I hope this helps.
