high rpm is this normal, what spark plug to ues
when i turn on my car the rpm would idle at (1) and stays there, is this normal, while I'm at a red light or stop sign I'll let go of the brakes a little and the vechile would move forward with out me giving it any gas so I'll get a grinning noise from the brake pads.
I also what to change the spark plugs and was looking at NGK G-Platinum
Do you guys think that these plugs are correct for a 2003 s-type 3.0

What is (1)? 1000? If so, not normal if the engine has warmed up. Should be more like 650-700ish. Does it still idle at 1000ish when warmed up? You have a fault that needs fixing if so (may be running rich so may destroy cats; probably won't pass emissions tests).
I'd plan to get an OBD tool that can not just read codes but can also show you what the car's sensors are doing. And tell you whether the car's running CL (closed loop).
Autos do normally creep a bit. "grinning" is priceless lol
Don't put in the wrong plugs. Expect endless problems if you do until you replace them with the right ones. The spark plugs and much else are in the stickies (see forum top). Well worth your while to do lots of (free!) reading.
And read old threads here. Likely to save you soooo much cash.
How many miles on the car?

I'd start with OBD readings in the hope of avoiding changing lots of parts until you happen to change the right one(s). Or take it to a competent tech who understands the S-Type and can properly diagnose what's going on. You're not so much looking for DTCs (codes) - though you may have them - but rather at what the car's deciding to do and why.
I've posted quite a bit about OBD if you want to do this yourself, and there's lots on the net, but be prepared to spend time reading as it's a big subject - and in due course more time getting OBD data.

Heed the "Jag-ster's" advise(Hope you don't mind the nickname JagV8)... He's like the local OBD expert...Lot's of knowledge. All he (and the rest of us for that matter) asks is that you do some homework first so you have a basic understanding. If it is too much, that is OK as well, since OBD cars in general can get pretty complicated to diagnose let alone fix. In that case be prepared to take it to a QUALIFIED technician. I also agree that idling at 1k is too high and points to an underlying issue.
BTW JagV8: My brakes made a "grinning" sound this morning when a dork ran out of talent on a slushy exit ramp in a PT Cruiser. Man do I love the ABS and DSC in these things....

Yea.... All I thought is "S*it, it's my fault if I hit this moron!" But the good 'ol S stayed true and just scrubbed speed. No stains, to need to change clothes, it was totally predictable.
Thanks for sharing all the aquired knowledge, I know it helps quite a few people here...Heck it helped me trouble shoot the Caravan and save a bundle on a dealer visit. And Jag-ster it is.....LOL...

Will today I removed the intake and value covers, what a job that was. The rear passenger coil had a bit of oil on it, so removing the value covers wasn't a waist of time. I still can't find anything online or on this sit about what spark plugs would work the best for my vehicle. I still need help guys I searched and can't find info

No i don't think that the spark plugs are my high idle problem. The engine light is on so had the guy in autozone check it out for me and the codes P0301 thur P0306 came out so I started to remove one spark plug one at a time and they didn't look so good so I decided to put new plugs in. How much does each plug cost.

Misfires on the 3.0 have been covered in multiple recent(ish) threads so follow them
Much more likely to be coils than plugs but change both. Get parts from a jag dealer unless you really know what you're doing. The costs of the wrong parts will be horrific.
Also be sure no air leaks, again it's all in previous threads.
And be aware that codes like that are merely clues that things are VERY bad. A proper OBD tool will tell you what the sensors are reporting to help you see what else is wrong.
