Question Homelink Module

Good Afternoon. When I bought my S Type R in 2003, about the only option I did not choose was the Homelink module. I am keen to try and find one so that I can have a go at fitting it. Please can any of you assist me with this quest?I have already seen an excellent article from a member who successfully obtained one and fitted it so I know it can be done. The main problem is finding one to buy. Many thanks.

I did not know that the sunvisors could be obtained WITHOUT the GDO.
Here in the U.S. they are fitted as standard.

I would look to a salvage yard for the GDO and correct interior trim code.

Hi from the UK. My SType R has the panel in which a Homelink module would be fitted if I had one, above the central console and in the roof. It's the same panel as the interior lights and rear sunscreen are also situated.
It sounds very different from yours which you observe is fitted in the sun visor. That was never an option when I bought mine.
I have read an excellent thread, in which a contributor describes extremely well how he obtained a whole panel from the USA and fitted it. Photos too.
My problem is merely that, so far I've been unable to track one down in the UK.

Sorry..... I looked at the early JEPC (to VIN M45254)

I see the GDO in the overhead Console from VIN M45255.

The harness/connector is probably there so you would only need to replace the console with a correct interior trim unit from a salvage vehicle?

The homelink just clicks into place and the socket is there for the homelink to plug into your original consol, just plug and play. NOTE the USA ones are a different frequency to our UK ones

Thanks for the information. I had absolutely no idea that it is a plug in component. It makes the job far simpler. All I need now is to track down an actual component.
I know that it's rather a lot to ask, especially on a Bank holiday, but do you have any digital images that might help me to understand how it works. I would be very grateful.

Here are some images of the homelink module for the s type you also need the consol with the buttons has the circuit board is needed to power this up and provided the 3 different signals to be able to operate a garage door and 2 other devices or 3 garage doors as you please, otherwise it's plug and play. This one shown is for North America ihis far has I have been able to find out ours(UK) has a green label I've just stuck my garage door hand held remote in the roof consol and drilled a hole thro to trigger the button with an appropriate button lol
