My son knocked the hood ornament off my '01 S Type with a basketball. I have the Leaper and the metal lanyard. I am looking for the nut and spring assembly or any other method to reattache. The dealer wants $279.00 for a new leaper and nut assembly.

 

It's never happened to me but if you go to your local Home Depot or Lowes I'll bet
they can find you something that would work
