Default Hot Cat Update!

Hi Jaguar Fam,
Just to let everyone who chimed in on my over heating problem know whats goin on and to say thanks. So I started out need the headgaskets done . I bouhgt the car this way from a guy whi didnt want to pay me whati was charging to fix it which was$800 plus parts. I replaced the headgaskets and timing chains and tensioners( thanks TDC) then i had overheating issues . Well after replace the thermostat twice and a new expansion tank and cap. It turns out that the new waterpump with the plastic impeller was the culprit i put the old one with the metal impeller back on and its doing great so far.

Awesome man! So the plastic impeller pumps can't hack the swirl or was it a defective pump?

I thought the old ones were plastic and the new ones metal.

Also, that when changing a plastic one you check that the blades are intact and recover the pieces if not. To me there's a chance the overheat is due to this: the pump sounds like it may have already been changed to metal but maybe some parts of an original plastic one were left in. Worth a hunt around if the overheat recurs.

Bad news she ran hot agin today but only with the thermostat in. When I ran it with a gutted thermostat it ran very well.I drove it this way to a shop that I used to work at and they thought my radiator might be clogged so I drove it back home took it out and ran water through it with the hose and it had good flow so put it back to gether and put the new thermo in and it ran hot. What now?
