Default A hot new post on an old topic (A/C)

So I am new to the forums, but not new to forums in general. I've been searching for A/C compressor faults similar to mine but i realize I may never find one EXACTLY like mine so here goes. Bare with me guys....

A year or two or three ago while replacing the battery, I locked the keys in the trunk, I got the bright idea to power the car with the battery hooked up to the engine and the chassis Ever since then the A/C hasn't worked.
Since then i've checked ALL fuses (audible multimeters are awesome) and I made sure the A/C compressor relay was working (swapped with horn relay).

the blower works, and I don't think it's the heater valve because it doesn't blow HOT air on the lo temp setting.

I switched out the compressor under my father's orders, to no avail, and the compressor does not kick on even after I added a decent charge (about 42 psi on a 96F day.)

Obviously i shorted something out that fateful day but what?? I'm at my wits end.

Also if someone could guide me through the JTIS download site, that'd be great
