Default How difficult to change oil pan gasket on 05 S-type V6?

2005 S-Type w/ V6 Motor 4 door.

Changing out the oil pan gasket, is it just a matter of ..
1. Getting front end off ground (ramps)
2. Remove the belly pan.
3. Access oil pan???

or is it more complicated then that?

Also, with new gasket, is silicone required? If so, what type of silicone?

Thank you all in advance. I love this website!!

Here you go https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/s...ics-faq-52987/
I don't know if you will be able to see the pics.
It might be a plan to post up an intro in the new members section.

I can see the pictures just fine, however the picture with the Rack Ties confuse me,,,, is that just coat hangers in those holes?

How high does the engine need to be lifted? Is there a specific what to wrap the chain around the engine?

Darn... I was hoping it would not be this complicated... I don't own an engine hoist. Would a 1 ton hoist be enough?

I used tie wire but coat hangers will work.

Using a floor jack rather than a cherry picker, once the 2 motor mount bolts are removed, jack the engine up until it barely hits the black cross members that I had removed in the picture.

You do NOT have to use a cherry picker, a floor jack located where the motor meets the transmission will work just fine.

Its not a bad job, plan 5~6 hours from start to finish. As stated in the link JTIS or www.alldatadiy.com will be needed! BTW reread the link, Brutal did mention a couple of "short cuts", but he is a Certified Jaguar Tech, so for the DIYer I tried to make it simple for us.
