How do I tell which S Type model I own?

either going to be a 3.0 or 4.0 open the hood and see if you have a big black cover over the engine, that indicates that its a 4.0, if its silver with no cover then that indicates its a 3.0, if its a sport, your grill and your side bumper parts would be painted the same color as your car along with the trunk part that says "JAGUAR" across it. Other wise your car is a basic.

For my fellow Americans, there were quite a few more trim levels in other markets. The "base" S Type even had cloth seats...
I am not familiar with what was available in Australia.
Here is a picture of a cloth seat S type from Auto Trader UK.
So, it would be interesting to see what you really have...

Well you have the EPB so it must be the 2002.5 facelift with the six speed transmission.
Does it have chrome or body colour corner trim and grille?
Can you measure the diameter of the front brake discs 300mm or 320mm, you may be able to check this near enough with the wheels on.
