Hello Everyone,
Well the battery died in my S-Type Jaguar, so I took out the batter from the trunk and got it recharged at Auto Zone. But when I came back to re-install the battery, I could not open the trunk of the car with my keys. Is there any way that I can open the trunk of my car that has no battery in it? I was thinking of maybe taking down the back seats and getting to the trunk that way, but I could not figure out how to do this. I would appropriate any help. Thanks in advance

There is keyhole on the trunk door just above the license plate (it hidden from normal viewing height but you can see it when you look from knee level). I'm assuming that will open the trunk with the battery.
I've attached an excerpt from the 2005 manual about trunk locking.

OR ARE YOU REFERRING TO THE OFTEN FEATURE OF A KEY CYLINDER THAT HAS PROBOBLY NEVER BEEN USED SINCE YOU HAVE REMOTES AND BUTTONS TO DO THAT NOW, AND THE CYLINDER IS IN NEED OF A GOOD OIL SOAKING? iF THATS THE CASE SOAK WITH WD40 OR SOMETHING SIMILAR, AND IF THAT DOESNT WORK YOU CAN MAKE UP SMALL JUMPER WIRES TO POWER UP THE ENGINE COMPARTMENT FUSE BOX ON ONE OF THE UN USED SPADE TERMINAL. THIS WILL GIVE ENOUGH POWER TO POP THE TRUNK WITH THE REMOTE...

There is a 10mm i believe brass bolt inside the front engine compartment under the hood on the pass side. Use a power source by attaching the positve source to that bolt and ground the neg and you will get enough powere to open the trunk. Hope this helps this happen to me once and i was given this same help and worked like a charm.
