Default 40k 2003

Original owner, '03, manual 5-speed; just turned over 40K mi. Driving split between several vehicles and motorcycles, but driven with relative frequency. Routine maintenance and no performance problems; love it like day one!

Now at 73,250 miles....

With me now splitting my driving needs between our S-Type and my Dodge Ram pickup, it appears that our S-Type is now on pace for between 6,000 and 8,000 miles per year....

2001 4.0 145K.
Drives beautifully & looks great, but the heat is giving issues. Had to happen eventually.

How d'you mean - you ask for heat, but get no heat? The DCC valve packs up in them. Replace it with one of these:

http://www.amazon.com/Motorcraft-YG355-Heater-Valve/dp/B000C5HZEM/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1353781497&sr=8-2&keywords=Motorcraft+Jaguar+S-type+valve http://www.amazon.com/Motorcraft-YG355-Heater-Valve/dp/B000C5HZEM/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1353781497&sr=8-2&keywords=Motorcraft+Jaguar+S-type+valve

The part number you want is YG355.

Default 2005 STR w/ 74K miles

I have had my STR since 7K miles and now have 74K miles. I've replaced the following items:
 • Tires - Continental SportContact 2, Toyo Proxes T1-R and two sets of Continental DWS
 • Brake Pads - Akebono front/rear brake pads and still using original rotors (anybody else use their OEM rotors for this long?)
 • Battery - AutoZone
 • Water Pump - Failed and replaced the following at the same time for preventive maintenance...DCCV, Serpentine Belt and Idler Pulley
 • Plugs and Coils - Replaced all but did not need to. Misfires and performance issues were caused by bad catalytic converter
 • Catalytic Converters - One failed and replaced both with aftermarket, now running both OEM again. Aftermarket Magnaflow cats failed and they were too loud anyway
 • Radiator Fan - Replaced due to failure
 • Gas Tank Plastic Seal Cap - Failed under rear passenger seat
 • Heater Hose under SC - Replaced but appeared to be in very good condition. Since I had it apart I replaced the following items too...SC Pulley (Replaced with 2.6 inch/3.0 lb.), SC gear oil, many Gaskets and Hoses
 • Inner Tie Rods - Replaced both sides, one side was bent
 • Motor Mount - Diver's side failed

You think you could put some mileage markers next to those repairs? Mine has a lot less miles but I'd like to know when to be "out of town" when those things hit ... LOL

'01 4.0. 81k. Bought her two years ago with 79k. Right cat flipped code for efficiency, anti fouler fixed it. LF window reg from an LS, front sway bar bushings, left spindle for bad ball joint, Ouch! LF wheel bearing. Currently sleeping undercover and waiting on spring.

2005 S-Type 3.0 now pushing 88,000 miles....

It's been relatively trouble-free the past year or so. We did its first ATF drain-and-fill last November at just over 85,000 miles. I felt it was time and I went with Mercon SP (which has done quite well). Just put the car in the shop this morning to have the A/C system checked out. It has been blowing ambient air for the past few weeks and with afternoon temps now reaching into the 80s on some days, I'm sweating like a pig even with the windows down. This polar bear can easily live without heat but I cannot survive without A/C....

'08 4.2 58K miles (got it 05/13 with ~48K miles)

Had to replace both HID headlamps, one under warranty one not... =:-0

Also replace the front fender liners because the were both badly cracked.

Did pads and rotors

Just now the radio speakers have stopped working
