How many quarts of power steering fluid does the s-type use?

At the bottom of the steering rack is a hose about two feet long with a plug at one end. I removed this plug to drain the fluid, turning the streering wheel slightly to speed up the drain process. The engine was turned off. About 1.6 quarts drained. I capped the plug with a hose clamp and then refilled the resivior. Working the.streering wheel did not lower the fluid (get the air out). So I started the engine and immediately turned it off. This lowered the level. I added more fluid and started and immediately stopped the engine. After the third time, the fluid level seemed to stay. I started the engine again and worked the steering from lock to lock. Somewhere I read that bouncing the steering.off the end stops will bleed air from the system, so I did that.for a while. After that was done, only a tiny bit more fluid was needed.
