Are you asking how many were made worldwide, or how many there are in the US?

He's asking world wide. We discussed this topic in a thread and one of the guys came up with an official production number of 8000+ STR's were made.

To simplify from the other thread:

Worldwide production of STR:

1999 - 2001 3 were produced
2002 - 520 were produced
2003 - 205 were produced
2004 - 107 were produced
2005 - 163 were produced
2006 - 147 were produced
2007 - 129 were produced

Lower than I expected, then again I've only ever seen one other STR in my area, the rest being the 3.0 or 4.2

03 here in Pittsburgh - not all that far from Columbus or Cleveland.

Heck we probably have enough members in the OH/PA/NY/NJ area to get an STR meet up day sometime this summer eh....

There was an earlier posting that gave the total STR production data:

These look ridiculously low.

01 for the 02 MY 80
02 for the 03 MY 3925
03 for the 04 MY 1168
04 for the 05 MY 1315
05 for the 06 MY 667
06 for the 07 MY 698
07 for the 08 MY 190
Total 8043.

SCMike, R U "Last of the Mohecans" cause you live near where the film was shot? While stayin in SC for a doctors convention i took a drive and landed not too far from the state park where the last part of the film (cliff/gorge part) was shot.

Nope - the "Last" refers to our 2008 S-Type, which was the last of its type. I doubt that Jaguar will ever again build something as retro looking as the S-Type. This particular car was one of the last two Jaguars left at a just-defunct Jaguar dealership, so we got it for an incredibly cheap price, on the Friday before the Monday that they were going to truck it off to auction. Last of the Mohicans indeed.

SCMike,

With that Jaguar dealership going belly-up, who does your warranty work now? Let's hope there's another dealership relatively close to you....

I thought so too and those number look more likely. Although I liked believing that I had a car that was only 1 of 205. Now, my STR is from the most popular year.
