Yes there are a couple of threads. I just did this myself.

Search and you'll find the factory documentation files on here.

Not hard just get some plastic pry tools to prevent damage.

You can look for my thread on this.

Yeah, I don't go in for the usual problems like under SC coolant hoses or climate control module problems. At least I hope not ...

I like brand new batteries that are defective or speedos & tachs that start going whacky for no apparent reason.

Just call me Mr. weirdo ... LOL

Hi

I'm struggling to find any guides of how to remove the speedo etc, i'm crap on a comp

The reason i need to do to remove it is that i have been informed that the yellow engine shaped light is not working as it never comes on when you turn the ignition, i'm hoping it is just a bulb but not sure.
I'm skint at the minute so can't afford to get it looked at and the guy who spotted it not working says that something may be wrong with the car and it may do a lot of damage by using it.
I have had the car for about a year but have hardly used it, i'm worrying now that the car may have had an issue when i bought it and previous owner may have took the bulb out, could this be the case?

Thanks for any help

here's a hint on how to find stuff. it's how I found my own threads on this.

Click on my user id and then click statistics.

Then chose find all threads started by staatsof.

That gives a list of threads and will get you started.

here's what if found:

https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/s...t-panel-80582/

from there I ended up here:

https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/s...a-74438/page3/

post 45 sort of summarizes everything and pointts here:

Don't expect such hand feeding all the time though.

I hope this technique outlines how I found my own posts quickly.

You should also spend some time learning about the search function.

Best of luck

It's now (starting this year) an MoT fail if it doesn't self-test at ignition on. That includes the other warning-type lights (ABS etc).

I think they are just bulbs, rather than LEDs, but I'm not sure.

Thank you very much

I will have ago now, just thinking is there any other tell tale signs that may point to the engine light being tampered with, like another warning light on linked to it?
