Default How To Test Coils For 2004 s type 3.0 base V6 Jaguar -persistant p0430 code -

Does Anyone know procedures for testing - checking coils to see if bad on a
2004 S-type 3.0 base V6 Jaguar? Do I just check left side corresponding coils, and pull a few plugs? Reason: Some of you responded sharing my persistant p-0430 code left bank cat inefficiency, for months now, after I changed recently th left side 2 O2 sensors, is still showing code/engine light, could be a bad coil - best bet. Main symptoms are: Running rich with occassional gas fumes smell after car shut off (stopped occurring after the 2 sensors installed) AND lower gas mileage. Car performance and idle are fine.
Car is 121k miles. Sparks changed 25k ago. No apparent vacuum leaks. I have driven car for many months with this occurring, so cat could be bad, but want to check coils first before purchasing.
Thanks for the advise!
