LOOKS like we have to get a winter beater...my wife has a heavy foot and likes performance in her cars...her last car was a 2008 5series bmw we had so much problems with it we got lucky to sell it...she drives her company car for now ....she loves my x-type, but she loves the s-type even more ...we are going for the supercharged version ....they only came in automatic ?...thank god the s-type does not have a transfer case

Thats great to hear! You will not be disappointed, I promise! I hope the wife likes the X ALOT becasue I have a funny feeling the STR will quicky turn from the wife's car to yours...

oh ya, and drive it like you stole it!

Yup, automatic only. Have fun! Having a Co. car will help. And have to chime in with snow thing but from another angle. I'm sure with a narrower tire the R would be just as good as my 3.0 in the snow. BUT, if you can avoid driving it in the "crud", do it. Winter crap is the worst thing for any car. It seems it takes me all spring and summer to get the daily driver really clean. Unfortunately, my S is the "winter beater". I just can't afford to put another car on the road, and there is no way the Dodge is going in the snow. I sometimes laugh at myself when I realize I'm killing the car that is worth 4 times as much as the Dodge. The only thing is there aren't very many of those old cars left.
