I SERIOUSLY NEED ADVICE
I am considering to purchase a 2000 S Type Jaguar V8. The currently has 77,000 miles on it and it is being serviced for the 75,000 mile recommended service as well as it just had a tune up. Thecurrent owneris the 2nd owner and bought a new one and wants to get rid of this one. He has all documents related to any work that was done on the car and he assures me that all work was done at a Jaguar dealership. He told me that he had problems with the windows' motors and had those replaced. He tells me that the engine and transmission is in excellent condition. He's asking $8200.00. What do you all think? Please provide all feedback. I've never had a Jaguar, but I am willing to start with this one.

Timing chain tensioners keep tension on the timing chain. If they fail and they will its a new engine. If they are replaced it will cost you anywhere from $1200.00 to $1800.00 depending on mechanic and what they are replacing. Thats why get an S Type with the 4.2 engine
