I want 20"s what size fits?
ok i will purchase a jag this week and i want to put 20"s dub on them. yes im a bling bling freak since i live in Cali!!! ok first off what lug patterns are the 2000 s-type 3.0? what size will you guys recomend for me? i know the should fit cuz i find a lot of people from cardomain.com having them on their car but i just want to be careful and do it right the first time not the second time. to me i was thinking of something like 20x9 with 245/40 series tires if it is possible without any rubbing issues or am i gonna have to go with 245/35? the reason i dont like 245/35 is that its too thin and dont want to bend the rims on big potholes. since its rear wheel drive am i gonna have to stagger them or is all the same size rims ok?

agreed, 20s are too big...even with 19s, the tires are 35 in the front and 30 in the rear....if you went with 20s you'd have 25 size tires - basically rubber bands around the rims
I'm considering 19 inch wheels ....245/35/19 front, 275/30/19 rear. Does anyone have a similar setup? Is this enough tire? Or should I go to 18 inch?
Thanks

I'm curious how much you are asking as well....I have a black STR and am looking at black wheels. However, when asking even the most reputable wheel manufacturers in the country, they tell me that even some brands of 19" have rubbing issues, so I can't imagine those 20s are fine.

I'm not trying to start anything, but anyone ever check on cardomain? It seems that everyone and their grandmothers are rocking dubs. Not that I like the look, this S-type is rolling on 22". http://www.cardomain.com/ride/2376463

that one on 22's looks elevated (because it most likely is b/c increased size of wheel/tire) and I bet the speedomoter isn't accurate.....yeah sure you can mount 20" + wheels on this car, but its for show only. I don't own my STR as a show car -- I drive it everyday, and I live in the northeast where the roads are pretty lousy. As it is with my stock 18" wheels I am very very weary of uneven pavement, potholes, etc because I feel that even they aren't protected by too much rubber. As far as I'm concerned, if you're going to drive the car a lot, and have passengers in the back seat, 19" would prob be the max you could get away with...and I'm not even sure I'd go that big. If you want to just leave your car parked and show it off, go put dubs on it....if you want to drive it, you will have a shitty ride.

After this weekend, I almost crashed after having to brake hard and steer out of the way of an SUV, and I'm not sure that the car would've handled that well with big rims. I'd have to hear testimonies from people with big rims and safety in order to go bigger now. I was scared to near death, and now safety is like a big deal with me. It might change in the future, but right now I'm extremely pleased with the steering under wheel lock of my S!

Well i have an 02 S-Type with the 4.0 and i'm on 20's. I had a small rub problem with the front drivers wheel well rubbing when i was turning and going over bumps. I just roled the fender up a bit and so far so good. I can still take corners faster then most but i have noticed it takes a little bit longer to stop. Scared me the first time. I am however a So-Cal guy so I gotta rock the bling a bit, i'll take the lack of stopping power for the clean look of 20" chrome wheels holdin up a factory chrome trimmed black Jag with black windows. It's a sexy look. Go big or go home bro. Just go a bit slower over the bumps and role your fenders.
