Default Idler pullys and other questions

Hey fokes!! Stopping in to ask a question or two. So I purchased a new ier pully from rock auto and it dont fit. The oem has a large washer on it and is a bit diffrent in design. Question should I for out the absolute ridiculous amount for new oem ones or should I find new bolts and a washer and adapt the new style ones from rockauto?

I also changed out my transmission mount today, i kept hearing a almost odd type of a grind but not really a grind as soon as the throtle was pushed. Well it went just about completely away after I changed it! Yaaaay. The old one was bad and it also looks as if someone else used it as a jack spot or something the metal was bent up.

I want to do my motor mounts as well because I have them sitting here and I know they need changed too. Does anyone know a good and best way of doing so?

I just changed the front top controlcontrbecause I had them as well and man what a diffrence. This car just keeps getting better and better.

I will be buying new audio gear for her soon and wanna know is the door speakers 5x7? I know the radio will be fun install as theres nothing made for it but i got this no biggie. Crutchfield keeps telling me to use 5.25 and I don't want them I want 5x7/6x8.
I found some morel componets sets for front and rear and I will do maybe a pair of 8 inch subs in the rear deck or 1 12 inch in a custom fiberglass box in the trunk. I need my tunes sounding right after I get the mechanics 100.

I also have a transmission question. I bought the shift kit from transgo and will do the valve body stuff on it. The reason is. My trans feels good and firm but when I'm just driving normal it seems to wanna say slllloooooow shift or if I smash it and then decide to let off it kinda hangs around before it settles back in its gear. It's weird. Just seems lazy to me. I hope the kit will help with this. It does have a full flush of fluid switched to amsoil signature and a new filter with correct fill.

I also have a set of brand new stickers still on them continental extreme contact dsw6 tires I'd like to sell. Cheaper then I paid if anyone is around cincy ohio. Stock 225 55 zr16.

Ok rant over I just love this car

Joe.

if you're talking about the left idler they revised that part with one that's double flanged. what I do is to avoid buying the new bolt with a centering sleeve is I put a gates 36270 on the tensioner side, and a 38028 on the idler.

if nothing matches up buy a 6203-2RS bearing and just hammer the old one out of there

Thanks for that info! Yes there is two on the left side of my 4.0 I need both of them. Or even the bearing size for each. I have a new tensioner with pully so there good but my other two are rather wobbly after I repacked them and there shot.

Replacing the bearing is cheap and easy, but make sure you get a good quality one. I had a faulty SKF bearing, so replaced it with a Timken bearing and all is good!

Ok so then I just ask is both the left upper and lower pulleys take the same bearing and is it the number posted above? I did find them and I was already getting the Timken ones.

I know on my car they had different sizes. I don't know which model car you have. I'm on my phone. Check my threads and you'll see some info about this. My 3.0 V6 2000 model has different pulleys than the facelifted models I think.

Ah I see. Couldn't tell you the sizes of those. On mine I removed the pulleys, knocked the old bearings out, then measured them with a vernier gauge. Be aware that there are different tolerances for fitment. Some of the same size bearing will be engineered for a slightly tighter fit that others. This is often indicated by a C followed by a number from 1 to 5. C1 is very little clearance. C5 has a lot of clearance. If you get the wrong clearance your bearing will wobble inside the steel pulley.
If as xalty says you need a 6203 2RS, the standard size would be 6203-2RS C3. If you want a tighter fit, get 6203-2RS C2.
