I've got go find the threads on the changing of the fluid as well as the ones on birdie chirp, chirp noise. Mine isa just over 30K and it's chirping more each day.
I have a friend with an Audi that I think uses the same basic trans and on those forums they talk a newer version of the fluid with different friction modifiers for solving the chirp.
Isn't the additive no longer available anyway?

The only time I had to get under the cars was at the end to check the fluid level and temp per the factory service manual.
I have my wife's sisters son come over to help with car stuff. He's 16 and just started to get insterested in working on cars so I bring him over to teach him the ropes. While we were doing it I asked him if he felt like we did $1000 worth of work ( figure 20 quarts of fluid at sixty each plus labor) and we just laughed beacuse it was so easy. If you wanted to you could also change out the filter at this time but I'm waiting on mine till I pull the valve body. Figure one afternoon worth of time with letting the cars temp cool off to check the fluid level.

You're talking about a complete fluid exchange right?
If at all possible I'd just like to put in the additive. I have just over 30K miles on the car so all new fluid and the labor involved seems like overkill not to mention expensive.

It was so easy, the way I did it. The funnel I used is from Walmart. Just kept the funnel full of new fluid as it pushed the old out. I broke it up into 4 sessions with the motor running to push old fluid out. In between I gave it time for new fluid to work its way down.

I had the fluid changed out about a month ago at 61K miles. Vehicle previously gave the old "lurch" problem
Bought this kit along with the necessary bolts and sleeve.
Oil change kit for 6HP26/28/32
I've driven the car about 500 miles since and am glad to say no more lurch.
