Default ignition barrel problem

Hello all, I'm posting in the general section since I'm unable to find the info I need in the S-Type forum.

I have a 2003 S-type with a 4.2 engine. The key ignition barrel has fallen back into the dashboard. I'm still able to use it, but I would like to get it fixed.

Is there anyway to get the barrel back to its proper position without taking the dashboard apart?

Thanks for any and all help.

no and worse yet Ide think the portion of the dash that hoses the bracket to support and hold the barrel in may have broken and thats why its fallen back. you have to remove the dash wood and inst panel, and the lower knee bolster to access
